I often reminisce about the best 7.5 years spent in Chapel Hill, NC (Go Heels!).
When not in front of the computer, I spend my time reading, writing, playing golf, tennis, and traveling to distant places (Love Mykonos and the rest of the Med coast) with my wife and family.
I am also the founder of DeskAway, a simple yet powerful web-based work tracking tool.
I am currently working on a book on Web 2.0 & SaaS to be published in late 2010.

We are always trying to increase the conversion rate from Visitors to Free Signup and from Free Signup to Paid customer. This does not happen overnight. You need to play around with the design, user interface elements, analytics, price points, marketing messages etc. Here is an interesting slideshow that sums up a lot of what most web companies do to increase paid customer conversions.
